There is, most definitely, a war being waged against women. But, it's not what Planned Parenthood and other
radical organizations on the left would have you believe. They expect you believe the nonsensical claim that Re-
publicans are waging a war on women if they dare oppose Planned Parenthood's anti-women agenda which will
use ObamaCare as its vehicle to expand sexual license in the U.S., augment population control efforts, and open
Planned Parenthood's coffers to receive a flood of taxpayer funds.
In its implementation of ObamaCare, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has mandated
that employers must purchase health insurance that would provide employees with free sterilizations and
(cancer-causing) hormonal contraceptive steroids and abortifacients. That would include the birth control
pill (oral contraceptives) and the injection, Depo Provera birth control. And the U.S. Supreme Court has agreed
for the first time that forcing citizens to buy a product they don't want - in this case, health insurance - is a tax
that the federal government may impose.
More American women will die of cancer because of the ObamaCare mandate. Women and their unborn chil-
dren will be sacrificed on Planned Parenthood's altar of greed!
Like every other Big Lie that has been told throughout history when infamous political leaders and others have
used propaganda to conceal their nefarious purposes, Planned Parenthood and its political allies have repeated
their canned slogan, "Stop the war on women," ad nauseum in the hope it will ultimately stick. They would have
you believe that women around the world are dying in the streets for lack of hormonal contraceptive steroids and
induced abortions. They make it sound as if taking hormonal steroids and having abortions are as necessary to
women's health as drinking water and breathing air! That's their idea of "reproductive health"!
But here's the truth! As the promoters and sellers of the birth control pill and the injection, Depo Provera
birth control, Planned Parenthood and its allies are clearly the ones waging a war on women! Five studies
have strongly linked use of Depo Provera with a 1.5- to 2.3-fold increased breast cancer risk. (Other grave risks
include increased susceptibility to HIV/AIDS and bone mineral density loss.)
Christopher Li, Janet Daling and other researchers from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle
conducted the first "large scale U.S. study" on the link between use of Depo Provera and in-creased breast can-
cer risk. They found a statistically significant 2.2-fold elevated risk of invasive breast cancer among women who
had used Depo Provera recently for at least 12 months.
Significantly, the authors noted that the 2003 Women's Health Initiative study demonstrated a 1.24-fold ele-
vated risk among those who used estrogen plus progestin hormone replacement therapy (HRT). On the
other hand, estrogen only HRT "had a nonstatistically significant reduced risk." Depo Provera contains
only progestin. So why does it raise risk?
An International Women's Organization Professor Joel Brind (Baruch College, City University of New York) told us, "In the case of Depo Provera or
any other progestin-only pill, the estrogen component is provided by the woman's own ovarian estrogen."
You can learn more about the study by visiting the Coalition on Abortion/Breast Cancer's web page shown be-
low. [1]
The ObamaCare mandate is clearly an assault on women. Those of us who really care about women's health
need to start asking our legislators in Congress an important question. Why is it that, under ObamaCare,
women will be offered free health-damaging drugs and devices, but not free life-saving drugs and proce-
dures? In other words, why will ObamaCare provide women with free, cancer-causing birth control pills, injec-
tions, skin patches, IUDs, and vaginal rings, but once cancer strikes them, they will not be provided with free
chemotherapy, radiation and surgery which may save their lives?
As I write this letter, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is leading an international birth control conference
in London. According to the Washington Post, Melinda Gates claims the purpose of the conference is to put con-
traceptives "back on the global agenda" and to raise $4 billion so that 120 million more women in developing
nations (in other words, the poor) will have access to contraceptives. [2] Not food, clean water or medicine!
Contraceptives!
If you listen to Melinda Gates' justification for reducing the populations of these countries, poverty-stricken
women are pleading with her for birth control, including Depo Provera! In an interview with Michelle Goldberg
at The Daily Beast, Gates claimed she "would often ask women at remote clinics what else they needed," and
they frequently reply they want birth control. She claimed they say, "I wish I had that injection I used to get."
Goldberg explained, "They were talking about Depo Provera, which is popular in many poor countries because
women need to take it only four times a year, and because they can hide it, if necessary from unsupportive hus-
bands." [3]
Gates alleges abortifacients/contraceptives are necessary to save women's lives and they "help countries reach
their development goals." But when women in poor countries get cancer or have heart attacks or strokes it's
much more likely to be a death sentence for them than it is for American women. They are less well educated
about recognizing possible signs of cancer, and they lack the financial means of gaining access to proper health
care on a timely basis. Where will the Gates Foundation be when there are epidemics of cancer, heart attacks,
strokes, sexually transmitted diseases, urinary tract infections, osteoporosis and other adverse health conse-
quences associated with taking hormonal contraceptive steroids? How do epidemics "help countries reach their
development goals"?
Someone should ask Melinda Gates and other women leading the Gates Foundation if they would take the same
cancer-causing steroids they push on poverty stricken women. Estrogen plus progestin oral contraceptives are on
the World Health Organization's list of Group 1 carcinogens. How many women at the Gates Foundation would
take the pill which is strongly associated with the deadly triple-negative breast cancer? [4,5]
In July 2012, the African Journal of Primary Health Care and Family Medicine published my letter to the editor
discussing a 2011 Nigerian study by Drs. Paul Dienye and Precious Gbeneol that linked use of contraceptives
with a statistically significant 2.9-fold increased risk of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Among users of barrier
methods of birth control, researchers found a statistically significant 17.30-fold elevated risk of developing
UTIs. Women who used the birth control pill (oral contraceptives) were less predisposed to develop UTI's, in
comparison to users of barrier methods. Therefore, the authors (wrongly) concluded that physicians should rec-
ommend the pill as an alternative to barrier methods.

That's why, in my letter to the editor, I reminded readers that Drs. Dienye and Gbeneol had found the lowest
risk of UTIs among non-users of contraception. Natural Family Planning is equally as effective as chemi-
cal contraception, and, unlike the birth control pill, it doesn't cause cancer. I said use of the pill is associ-
ated with increased risk for cancers of the breast, liver and cervix. You can read the Coalition on Abortion/
Breast Cancer's newsletter on this subject, the study on UTIs, my letter to the editor, and the authors' response
by visiting the web address shown below. [6]
Will you help us stop the war on women? My colleagues and I would be enormously grateful for gifts of any
size. As I told you in previous letters, our volunteers are working to contact as many crisis pregnancy centers as
possible to provide them with samples of our brochures, Abortion Raises Breast Cancer Risk and Why Aren't
Women Being Told? So far, we've reached the centers in eleven states. Our brochures are valuable tools that
teach women the truth about induced abortion and cause them to choose life for themselves and their unborn
children.
